Microsoft he announced this week new autonomous AI agents and agent capabilities in Dynamics 365 that accelerate sales and business results, deliver competitive advantage and productivity gains and savings, reduce costs and administrative work, and increase labor and revenue efficiency.

The software giant has introduced ten new agents, and the ability to create autonomous agents with Copilot Studio will be released in November.

“Every organization will have a constellation of agents – from simple prompt and response to fully autonomous.” wrote Jared Spataro, director of marketing for Microsoft’s AI at Work initiatives.

These agents can build capability for every sales, finance or supply chain, from accelerating lead generation, sales order processing, supply chain automation or customer and employee onboarding.

Agents rely on the context of work data from Microsoft 365 Graph, systems of record, Dataverse and Fabric,

Microsoft has listed McKinsey & Company, Thomson Reuters and Clifford Chance as clients of these autonomous agents.

“New autonomous agents enable customers to move from legacy lines of business applications to AI-driven business processes. AI is today’s return on investment and tomorrow’s competitive advantage.”

Microsoft presented three examples:

  • Sales Qualification Agent. This agent research leads, help prioritize opportunities, and guide customer outreach with personalized emails and responses.
  • Communication agent with suppliers: This agent tracks supplier performance, detects delays and responds accordingly, freeing teams from time-consuming manual monitoring and firefighting.
  • Customer intent and Customer knowledge management Agents: These agents are dealing with high call volumes, talent shortages and increased customer expectations. These agents work hand-in-hand with a customer service representative, learning how to solve customer problems and autonomously adding knowledge-based articles to scale best practices across the care team.

Microsoft said agencies are following core commitments to security, privacy and responsible AI.

The company said it is using agents for its transformation, empowering employees to expand their impact. A sales team achieved 9.4% higher revenue per salesperson and closed 20% more deals. Another team resolved customer cases 12% faster. The marketing team saw a 21.5% increase in conversion rate on Azure.com with a custom agent designed to help buyers. In HR, the employee self-service agent helped answer questions with 42% more accuracy.
