ALBAWABA – Gautam Adani, an Indian billionaire, businessman, founder and chairman of the Adani Group, a multinational conglomerate involved in port development and operations in India, was recently charged in a bribery incident worth around 265 million dollars in the US.

Who is Gautam Adani?

Adani is considered the second richest person in Asia with a net worth of around $57.7 billion. The Indian businessman and billionaire is currently facing an arrest warrant and multiple potential penalties after being charged in a major US$265 million bribery incident.

The 62-year-old businessman was born in 1962 in the city of Ahmedabad, dropped out of school at the age of 16. In 1988, he started his trading business. According to Forbes, he is currently the 25th richest person in the world.

Following recent recharges, its businesses, which range from energy to ports and trade, have lost nearly $150 billion. The Adani Group has denied all allegations received at this time.

Earlier, Adani said his company plans to invest nearly $10 billion in energy and infrastructure projects in the U.S., with the goal of creating 15,000 jobs available in the U.S. market.
