Lawsuit against CMPD dropped after man says flashbang went off in his hand during 2020 protest

A Charlotte man mutilated during the 2020 George Floyd protest has dropped a lawsuit against the Charlotte-Meckleburg Police Department.

Kyre Mitchell sued the department after a police flash-bang grenade thrown by officers detonated in his hand.

It resulted in Mitchell losing two fingers.

A CMPD spokesman said the case has not been resolved.

In the dismissal letter, no reason was given as to why the suit was dropped, according to them Observer.
