Henderson settles lawsuit with Whitney Ranch residents for $3 million

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Henderson City Council has agreed to pay $3 million to settle a class-action lawsuit with Whitney Ranch residents.

Residents near Whitney Ranch filed the lawsuit in September 2022.

Monsoon floods affected many in the Rising Star Drive area near Whitney Mesa and the Galleria in late July. Strong storms caused the flood channel to overflow.

In late July, we showed you how a Henderson neighborhood was hit hard by monsoon flooding on Rising Star Drive near Whitney Mesa and the Galleria.

The water moved through the streets like rivers and caused severe damage to some houses.

At the time, the city had planned to expand the canal, but the project was not completed in time to stop the effects of this storm.

The owners sued just a month later.
