The NewsChannel 13 team reports local and national news events along with the latest weather forecasts and sports updates.

From now until Halloween, law enforcement is stepping up patrols to crack down on impaired and reckless driving across the state.

According to AAA, Halloween is the deadliest day of the year for pedestrians under the age of 18.
The New York State Police and local law enforcement will make sure everyone can enjoy Halloween without having to worry about impaired drivers.

According to the National Highway Traffic Administration, 72 people died in traffic crashes on Halloween in 2022. Alcohol was involved in 46 percent of those crashes, they said.
