Damon Blinks was extradited to Alabama for the murder of Devin McDonald

MADISON CO., Ala. (Waffle) – The man accused of shooting and killing a man in Quality Circle in 2023 has been extradited to Madison County.

Damon Blinks, 28, of Indiana, was arrested and charged with capital murder and robbery.

On August 29, 2023, Huntsville Police officers responded to reports of a body being seen in a parking lot on Quality Circle just before 7 am.

The person, 23-year-old Devin McDonald, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Blinks was identified as the suspect, but investigators believed he fled to Indiana in the victim’s car.

Blinks was arrested by Indiana officials and the victim’s car was recovered.

In Indiana, he was charged with theft-possession of stolen property, two counts of resisting law enforcement and unlawful possession of a weapon.

For those charges, he was sentenced to nine years in the Indiana Department of Corrections.

On November 22, 2024, Blinks was extradited to the Madison County Jail, where he faces charges of capital murder and robbery. He is being held without bond.
