Broward Health in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Nicklaus Children’s Health System in Miami have impart plans to launch a strategic partnership to improve pediatric care in Broward County (Fla.), according to a Nov. 21 news release.

Here are five things to know:

1. The affiliation agreement between the two parties has been approved by the boards of the North Broward Hospital District. Beginning in 2025, Broward Health and Nicklaus Children’s will work to expand and enhance pediatric services, with a full integration of pediatric care offerings expected in the latter part of 2025.

2. About 16% of pediatric patients in the area were forced to seek specialist care elsewhere.
