Guy Ritchie and his new big-budget series have been targeted by thieves.

The legendary director is currently London works on the Paramount+ show The Associate – which stars people like Helen Mirren, Tom Hardy and Pierce Brosnan – but a real heist rocked the production.

In something from his 2000 crime comedy Snatch, two men apparently showed up in a Toyota Prius and distracted everyone while a third person stole some camera equipment on the side of the road.

“The guy had the roads closed for filming and the production was full of security and crew,” an insider told The Sun. “Out of nowhere, two guys pulled up in a Prius and started asking for directions.

“Their questions distracted people and at that point the other guy jumped out and grabbed a bag of camera equipment that was on the side of the road.

“He jumped back in the car and they sped off. The security guards started going bananas because they had basically been robbed in broad daylight.

It was described as an “embarrassing and expensive” injury given the nature of the incident.

“It was quite embarrassing and a costly mistake,” the source added. “The set on those movies is not cheap.”

The new program sees the Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels director working with Hollywood royalty for the new project.
