Top five Sunday games to watch in Week 12 of the 2024 NFL season

  • WHERE: Northwest Stadium (Landover, Maryland)
  • WHEN: 1 pm ET | FOX

The Cowboys shot themselves in the foot on national television Monday night. Two turnovers and some questionable coaching decisions turned the game into a 34-10 loss. Being down on your starting quarterback, half of the offensive line and key defensive pieces isn’t ideal either. They return to the road this week, which is surprisingly where all their wins have come, to face a dangerous Commanders team. The Dallas-Washington rivalry runs deep, and the Cowboys have won four of their last five, but there are no promises left with this team.

The Chiefs are on a two-game slide, but have a chance to right the ship in the next three games (Cowboys, Titans, Saints). Their offense remains the catalyst, but it has looked much slower since then Jayden Daniels was injured in Week 7, which further highlighted the issues on defense. Any chance Dallas can kick the commanders while they’re here?

NFL Pro Insight for Cowboy-Commanders:

The Chiefs have lined up in shotgun formations on 77 percent of their offensive snaps this season, the third-highest rate in the NFL. They ran the ball on 43.9 percent of their plays in the league, averaging 5 yards per play, on par with the NFL average (5.1). Instead, they averaged 7.1 yards per pass from shotgun formations, the fourth most in the NFL.

The Cowboys are the only defense in at least 2018 that has allowed opposing running backs to gain more yards than expected on over half (50.6%) of their carries in shotgun formations.
