The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has charged a 17-year-old man from Jost Van Dyke with criminal damage and four counts of burglary in connection with incidents on the territory.

According to RVIPF, the burglaries took place in Mount Butu, East End, Great Mountain and Mount Healthy.

Acting Police Commissioner Jacqueline Vanterpool stressed that this arrest reflects the RVIPF’s commitment to addressing community concerns and tackling crime.

“Although we have made progress, our efforts will not stop there. We continue to rely on community cooperation to strengthen our crime-fighting initiatives,” said Vanterpool.

She also highlighted the worrying trend of youth involvement in criminal activities.

“The involvement of so many young people in crime should be a concern for all of us in society and it will take a comprehensive approach to tackle this serious problem,” she concluded.

RVIPF continues to urge residents to aid their efforts by reporting suspicious activity and supporting crime-fighting initiatives in the area.
