Cleveland murder suspect arrested in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (WOIO) – The US Marshals Service on Thursday arrested 29-year-old Daryl Patton, who was wanted by Cleveland police for aggravated murder.

According to Cleveland Police, on Jan. 17, officers were called to East 95th Street and Pratt Avenue for a shooting. When officers arrived, they found 27-year-old Martin Johnson shot to death on his front porch.

He was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Patton was later identified as a suspect in this fatal shooting and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

US Marshals received information indicating that Patton had fled Ohio and was in Las Vegas.

On Thursday, members of the Nevada Violent Offender Task Force arrested Patton at an apartment in Vegas.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott said, “This violent fugitive fled 2,000 miles across the country in an attempt to avoid arrest. This collaborative arrest is the ultimate example of nationwide coverage and teamwork among the United States Marshals Service.”
