LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A man accused of robbing a Lincoln car dealer of $30,000 in cash is expected to appear in Lancaster Court on Thursday.

On Aug. 25, Lincoln police officers responded to a report of a robbery at Front-Line Auto near 48th and Adams streets.

The victim and the dealership employee told police he arranged to sell a vehicle to Daniel Doboyou, 30, of Pennsylvania, through Facebook and text messages. Doboyou and another man arrived at the dealership and went to a back room with an associate to complete the sale.

During the sale, the victim took a bag belonging to the business with $30,000 in cash inside for safekeeping as it was the end of the day. As he was walking through the store to put the bag in his vehicle, Doboyou allegedly attacked him and stole his bag, police wrote.

Court documents allege Doboyou then fled to a black car with Pennsylvania license plates and drove off with the second man she arrived with. The victim followed the vehicle to 90th and Adams streets before the two men fled on foot, police wrote.

The police arrived at the scene and were unable to find the suspects.

After further investigation, the Lincoln Police Department positively identified one of the suspects as Doboyou.

Doboyou was later arrested and charged with felony robbery, a Class 2 felony. His bond was set at 10 percent of $200,000.

He is scheduled to return to court for a hearing on Dec. 30.
