Professional job postings show “encouraging” growth of 8.6% in October

Other sectors that reported job growth last month include:

• Basic materials (15.1%)
• Technology, media and telecommunications (14.1%)
• Healthcare (12.7%)

Toby Fowlston, CEO of Robert Walters, said that growth in these sectors reflects a “broader, developing demand for skilled talent”.

“The latest figures from our Global Jobs Index are encouraging – and a positive sign of a return to more traditional recruitment cycles, where October and the final quarter tend to be busy as companies step up seasonal hiring or seek to spend the remaining employment budgets before the end of the year,” Fowlston said in a statement.

Professional jobs are growing by country

By country, Mexico reported the largest percentage change in job vacancy growth for professional positions, at 21.34%.

“Mexico continues to benefit from the nearshoring boom – with companies increasingly relocating their manufacturing operations and supply chain closer to North American markets – this could be further boosted in the next quarter of recent geopolitical changes and trade renegotiations/agreements,” Fowlston said.
