NH officials warn of E-ZPass scam texts

CONCORD, NH (WCAX) – Authorities in New Hampshire say scammers are using the E-ZPass brand to threaten people with late fees via text.

Drivers can use E-ZPass to pay tolls on certain roads without having to stop and count quarters.

However, the New Hampshire Attorney General says scammers are texting residents that they have an outstanding E-ZPass bill threatening late fees.

Officials say E-ZPass never contacts New Hampshire residents via text messages.
