Man on pretrial release accused of theft, multiple thefts | News

A man awaiting trial on forgery, drug and theft charges has been charged with theft and multiple counts of theft, according to a magistrate’s complaint filed in Superior Court.

Christopher Ray Kreisher, 42, was charged Thursday with burglary and retail theft as second-degree felonies and theft of property as a third-degree felony.

These charges had a special offense notice while on felony release.

He was also charged with misdemeanor retail theft and misdemeanor theft.

On May 3, an employee of MacTech in Tumon reported that a man was caught on surveillance video removing a MacBook Air laptop from its packaging and placing it in a bag without paying for it.

The man left the store with the laptop, which was valued at $1,599. The video showed the man leaving the store in a vehicle that was linked to another retail theft case in which Kreisher was a suspect.

The next day, the store contacted police to say the man returned the laptop, saying he took it by accident.

On May 29, a manager at the Circle K in Tumon contacted police to report a theft. An employee told the manager her purse had been taken from the store, so the manager reviewed surveillance footage and saw Kreisher enter with a shoulder bag, put the merchandise in the bag and leave without paying.

The video also shows Kreisher reaching around the plexiglass near the cash register and grabbing the purse, according to the complaint.

The merchandise included a box of lighters and three sets of headphones with a total value of $103.24.

On Nov. 1, a woman contacted police to report that items were taken from her unlocked car while it was parked at the 76 gas station in Tamuning. Items taken included a handbag with a government tag, a GovGuam iPad with a government tag, a MacBook Air with a government tag, and a music book titled “The Prom.”

According to the complaint, police reviewed surveillance footage and recognized Kreisher and his vehicle.

On Tuesday, police went to the address where the vehicle was registered and found Kreisher hiding in a closet. He agreed to speak with the officers.

Kreisher admitted to taking the green bag from a car when he saw the woman enter the gas station without locking her doors and said the computer, iPad and book were in the bag. He said he gave the computer and iPad to a friend.

Kreisher also said he took the computer from MacTech but returned it after receiving a call from the store saying he would be reported if he didn’t return it, according to the complaint.

He denied taking merchandise from the Circle K in Tumon, but admitted taking the purse.

Kreisher is on pretrial release for murder in a 2022 case in which he was charged with four counts of third-degree felony forgery, third-degree felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and larceny retail as a crime.

Court records show he also has pending retail theft cases from 2022 and 2023.

If convicted of the current charges, he faces up to 60 years in prison.

He was held on $5,000 bail.
