CAPE TOWN — An entrepreneur and businessman accused of corruption and fraud, Edwin Sodi, has allegedly bought a top nightclub in the Mother City.

Conformable TimesLIVESodi will reportedly launch LIV on November 29, 2024, a year after acquiring shares in LIV Sandton, formerly known as Taboo. An anonymous source confirmed that it has completed ownership of the venue in November 2024 and is expected to shake up the nightclub scene.

Sodi’s legal troubles

Although Sodi is supposedly expanding his nightclub businesshis legal troubles have not gone away. He sold his house to Bryanston for over 70 million lei, after being accused of fraud and corruption.

It appeared in court in April, on charges of money laundering and corruption related to the 255 million lei asbestos auction. He was charged alongside former Prime Minister of the Free State Ace Magashule and 17 others.

Netizens are not amused

South Africans on Facebook they weren’t happy that he was taking pleasure in buying a club.

Edwin Sodi celebrates 50 years
