Two Iredell County charges of assault, robbery, kidnapping

Corey David Combs, 45, of Statesville, and Christopher Jordan Minier, 32, of Mooresville, face charges filed by Iredell County Sheriff’s deputies for felony assault by strangulation, kidnapping, robbery of common law and conspiracy. Additional warrants were issued charging Combs with felony kidnapping and motor vehicle theft, plus a felony count of communicating threats.

On November 14th, Deputies responded to a robbery on Winterfield Road in Statesville. The victim said he was attacked by two suspects and was choked by one suspect until he lost consciousness. After recovering, the victim found her belongings scattered and several items missing. The suspects fled in a white Toyota Camry.

Deputies reported visible injuries to the victim, including redness around the neck and injuries to the arms and legs. The victim was treated at the scene.

The suspects were identified as Combs and Minier. Further investigation revealed that Combs kidnapped and threatened another victim while evading arrest, forcing her to drive him to various locations. The victim escaped, but Combs stole his vehicle, later fleeing to Alexander County.

Combs, who tried to disguise himself in a wig and hat, was arrested on November 19. Marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found in his possession, leading to additional misdemeanor charges. Combs was jailed on a $150,000 secured bond with district court appearances set for Dec. 10, 11 and 12.

Miner remains at large. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call the Sheriff’s Office at 704-878-3100.
