Srinagar, Nov 22 (PTI) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday inaugurated a Public Service and Information Office here to ensure effective redressal of grievances, informed decision-making through data-driven monitoring and strategic communication.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by his aide Nasir Aslam Wani.

Abdullah inaugurated the ‘CM Public Service and Outreach Office’ at Gupkar Roda here, marking a significant step towards transparent, citizen-centric governance, an official spokesperson said.

The office, designed as a single-window platform, aims to ensure efficient redressal of complaints and informed decision-making through data-driven monitoring and strategic communication, he said.

The office’s grievance redressal system, aptly named Raabta (connection), serves as a bridge between citizens and government, combining robust digital systems with on-the-ground engagement to ensure timely service delivery and responsive governance.

During his maiden visit, the Chief Minister visited the facility, reviewed its operations and interacted with the officers.

Lauding the initiative, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of citizen involvement and directed the officers to ensure timely redressal of complaints and proactive communication with the public, the spokesperson said.

Abdullah was informed that the office will adopt a hybrid approach to communication, including an online complaint portal, a dedicated helpline and periodic in-person interactive sessions to effectively respond to all citizens, the spokesperson said.

This innovative initiative underlines the government’s commitment to boost public trust and ensure seamless interface between administration and citizens, he added. PTI SSB RHL
