Break-in at William Penn puts Camp Cortina Academy on lockdown

Officials in Harrisburg confirmed that Camp Curtain Academy was placed on lockdown due to a burglary at the William Penn building.

Camp Curtain Academy was closed at 2:20 p.m., according to district officials. The lockdown was lifted around 3:15 p.m., school district officials told CBS 21 in a statement.

Harrisburg Police Bureau Lt. Kyle Gautsch said no one has been found or arrested as a result of the burglary.

The old William Penn building is located adjacent to the school and has a history of crime there, including arson since its abandonment.

Parents were notified after the lockdown and students were dismissed at their regularly scheduled time.

Harrisburg Police Bureau Lt. Kyle Gautsch said no one has been found or arrested as a result of the burglary.
