UCCS fatal shooting suspect pleads not guilty in deaths of Samuel Knopp and Celie Rain Montgomery

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Nicholas Jordan, a man accused of killing his roommate and a woman in a UCCS dorm, has pleaded not guilty in the case.

Jordan was arrested in February days after police found his roommate, Samuel Knopp, and a woman, Celie Rain Montgomery, dead in a campus dormitory. Jordan is charged with murder.

During Friday’s court appearance, Jordan pleaded not guilty after Judge David Shakes ruled that Nicholas Jordan was competent to stand trial.

Jordan’s defense argued that he was incompetent in March.

The first was done by a professional at the Colorado Mental Health Hospital in Pueblo, who found Jordan incompetent to be judged.

A trial is scheduled for April 21.
